OK, this shouldn’t be a secret, but it is amazing how complicated getting fit and staying healthy has become.

It doesn’t need to become overly complicated if you focus on the single fact that weight loss or weight maintenance is based on the basic principle that calories consumed must be less than or equal to calories burnt or utilised.

You need to burn all the calories you consume otherwise, excess calories will be stored as fat. Our clever bodies store excess energy as fat, which it can draw on when there are no other immediate energy sources like carbohydrates it can burn.

The science behind this then gets more complicated, but that is where your Personal Trainer earns his/her money, by keeping you focussed on your current level of fitness and your realistic objectives, which we set out together in your initial Health Consultation.
